Parts 1-6 are all Bowie, presumably?

One of them would be Peter Gabriel... and another would be Punishment of Luxury. Roxy Music, too, possibly. I'm sure if I thought hard I could probably fill all six, with Bowie at #1 naturally.

Be-Bop Deluxe? I remember their records mouldering in a local record store bin back in the early '80s, but only recently doubled back to check what they were all about. Some tunes seemed to fall in some peculiar glam-prog quasi-sorta-but not-really proto new waviness.

From the U.S. windback: Later Split Enz tunes (post "True Colors") were in heavy rotation on MTV during the channel's first couple of years. By which point it seemed like they were trying to compete with Squeeze.

yes Be Bop, or more precisely Bill Nelson, is right on the nose - couldn't be more so really. From Bebop (proggy glam or glammy prog) to Red Noise (new wave ) to Bill nelson circa 'dream of colour' (synthpop)
